About Transmission

Transmission is a retreat for transmasculine adults (18+), including transmasc non-binary people and trans men, to connect, grow, and have fun with community. 

We offer engaging workshops, outdoor activities, and Community Circles. Participants also create their own “pop-up” workshops, discussions, and activities. You can join almost everything or do none of it, just as long as you come open and respectful. 

Retreats are typically held in the redwoods of Northern California. There are cabins, showers, camping, a dining hall, and indoor and outdoor community spaces. There is also a pool and hot tub. 

Transmission has been described as a transformative and spiritual experience. For many of us, it is the only time when we are around so many other trans people with no obligation to fulfill any gender norms. We want to celebrate the transmasculine experience, in all of its beautiful variations.

Meet the Team

  • Fresh Lev White

    Fresh “Lev” White is a love and compassion activist. He offers mindfulness, mediation, and diversity trainings as tools for shifting towards more authentic, conscious, and passionate living. He teaches and writes about how unconditional love and self-compassion are the ultimate gateways to honoring and understanding others; thus, healing our communities and our planet.

    Thomas Hare

    Thomas (they/he): By day, Thomas is a Water Resources Specialist with the City of Santa Rosa. The rest of the time they enjoy playing music, dancing, meditating, eating desserts, playing games, and walking in places that have a lot of green or blue. Thomas has only missed one Transmission retreat and joined the leadership team in 2022 to try and pay forward some of the gifts they have received from previous retreats.

    Kuya Gonzalez

    Kuya'karanuta'ni Gonzalez (Kuya) is a Two Spirit Afro-Borikua Taino Ceremonialist, Sacred Artist, Culture Bearer & Cultural Organizer. Kuya is Project Director & core facilitator for Spirit Root Medicine People: Indigenous Two Spirit Lifeways, a wellness project for the 2SQTBIPOC Community @spiritrootmedicinepeople Additionally, Kuya teaches workshops focused on healing, medicine making, meditation, self care & Ancestral remembrance.
